Farm Day at Terra Firma
Our camera has been repaired and returned to us so I'm happy to be able to share some more recent photos. Today was a long, exciting day. The city was very foggy and chilly and this morning so we had to head North and East to find the sun.
We started out the day with a short hike at Horseshoe cove in Marin.
Our walk was brief for a couple of reasons. First, we thought that Aurora would like to walk by herself and thus didn't take the stroller out of the car (as you can see, this was not her prefered mode of transport). Second, we also left lunch in the car and of course she got very hungry about 10 minutes into the walk. Still, we did get to see a nice horse named Sierra and a bit of the valley.

Our next stop was the Jelly Belly factory tour where the sun was shining and the fog far behind us. It was the first time any of us had been in a jelly bean factory.

Aurora examining the pumpkin display outside the Jelly Belly cafe.

Aurora also had to check out underneath the tables.

After the requisite sampling of many jelly bean flavors we made our way to our true destination.
Today was Farm Day at Terra Firma, the community supported agriculture (CSA) from where we get our weekly box of organic fruits and vegetables. (Very tasty)
The visit to the farm started out with a hay ride from the parking lot (where we picked up a pumpkin to carve for Halloween - possibly the biggest pumpkin Aaron has ever had. The sun was now out in full force - perfect strawberry ripening weather.

Aurora made sure that we didn't miss any planes flying overhead.

Yummmmmy!

Aurora and I picking strawberries.

We ate strawberries until we could eat no more.

Besides strawberries there were also ripe tomatoes and peppers for the picking. We also got to visit with some of the other CSA members, including some fellow UCSF'ers (look in the background of the yummmmy photo). We got to see the walnut trees along with fields of squash, eggplant and green beans, I think we know what we've got to look forward to eating soon. :)
We came home with quite a haul. We've got more tomatoes, strawberries and peppers than we know what to do with!
