Puzzle time and Lands End

Aurora is starting to really enjoy puzzles. She's still working on how to fit in the 'single' piece puzzles, no jigsaws yet. Here she shows Grandma Hodges how to put together her animal puzzle.

Last Sunday we took a walk around Land's End in San Francisco. You can see Sutro baths down below near the ocean.

Did I mention it was windy?

Grandma Hodges and the beautiful California coastline.

Walks with Aurora are rarely taken in a straight line. :)

What a cutie!

Heading down the path with mom.

Up next, more hiking and adventuring around the bay area.

Our Little Dipper

Like many toddlers, Aurora has discovered the joys of dipping, food that is. She particularly enjoys ketchup on things, all right, she enjoys eating it straight too. (Makes good body paint too apparently.) Enjoy the photos!

Halloween

Another Halloween has come and gone and once again the Sarver family dressed up and went out in style (no, no matching mommy-daughter costumes this year).

On the Friday before Halloween Aurora and I took the day off and went to the annual Halloween party hosted by the Golden Gate Mothers Group (GGMG), which I joined this fall. My informal survey results indicate there will be a lot of pumpkins, princesses, ladybugs and dinosaurs out this year. Aurora decided not to explore the jumpy house but loved swinging and the slide (currently her favorite activity at the playground).

As the weather is starting to get colder here in the city (nothing like the midwest of course but chilly none the less) I'm experimenting with crocheting, here is Aurora modeling her new scarf.

Over the weekend Aaron was hit hard with a bad cold. So I got to do the pumpkin scooping honors. (Those seeds roasted up really nice). This is the pumpkin we got free up at farm day (see my previous post).

Happily Aaron was feeling better by Monday night, well enough to carve a pumpkin or two and head out for some trick-or-treating!

Aurora showing off the pumpkin. Aaron says it was possibly the biggest pumpkin he's ever had.

Our little pumpkin!

Aaron and Aurora. Aaron dressed up as Aragorn/ranger/prince.

Anne and Aurora. I went as a queen/princess (a very popular costume with young girls as I found out at the Friday afternoon GGMG Halloween party).

Heading out to trick-or-treat. Aurora really picked up the concept of trick-or-treating quickly. After the first house or two she was knocking on the door, holding her hand out for candy and very carefully putting each piece into her paper bag (decorated with a pumpkin of course).

Aurora clutching a handfull of candy. Luckily she never realized that inside these colorful packages were sweet treats.
